It was a crisp morning,
all the more to inspire
the 200 walkers and
bicyclists who gathered
at Canalport Park, in
Morris, for the first
annual I&M Canal Walk or
Ride last Saturday. The
event was a resounding
success, offering
participants a fun way
to enjoy the canal –
some for the very first
time – and raising more
than $25,500 to enhance
the trails and other
attractions along the
I&M Canal. The funds
will be matched dollar
for dollar by federal
monies.
Thanks
to the event
underwriters, Lewis
University and Hayes
Mechanical; to the many
sponsors; to all the
businesses that donated
an abundance of prizes –
and to all the riders
and walkers.

attendees.
