JOIN the SLEEPERS
The Sleepers welcome individuals interested in becoming ballists (players) or bugs (fans).   There are no restrictions on becoming an official bug, but ballists must be at least 18 years of age and should be in good physical health to play base ball.  All interpreters (ballists and bugs) are required to acquire their own period clothes and personal accessories in keeping with Sleepers’ interpretive policies.

All interpreters are strongly encouraged to attend periodic workshops that are held at the Gaylord Building.  Workshops cover a multitude of related topics, such as period clothing, 1850s current events, and Victorian customs and interpretive “do’s and don’ts.”

The deadline to become a ballist for the 2008 season is March 1, 2008, in order to allow time for the making of the uniform.  Bugs may join at any point once their clothing and accessories have been completed.  If you, or someone you know, would like to become a living history interpreter, please contact the Sleepers at the earliest opportunity.  Click Here for the application and 2008 waiver.
