Group Tours
The history of the I&M Canal comes alive at the Gaylord Building,
making it an ideal stop for tour groups of all ages. In addition to
the exhibits at the Gaylord Building, the near by Will County
Historical Society, Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery, Gladys
Fox Museum and I&M Canal Trail make Lockport and excellent day trip
for heritage-tourism enthusiasts.
We offer both self-guided and guided tours. Self-guided tours of the
Gaylord Building are available for groups of any size, though we
require groups of 10 or more to notify us in writing at least one
week in advance. Tours guided by Canal Corridor Association’s staff
are available for school and other groups of 10 or more with a
written request at least one month in advance and subject to
scheduling.
If you are interested in arranging a tour please click the following
link to access and print our
Group Tour Request Form. Fill
it out completely and fax or mail it using the contact information
on the form. Please help us with scheduling by making sure your
request is submitted at least one week in advance for self-guided
tours, and one month is advance for guided tours.
